PE80 Polyethylene Pipe

Over time, with advances in the polyethylene and polymer industry, as well as with the production of PE100 polyethylene, PE80 polyethylene is no longer used, and PE80 polyethylene is being phased out.

PE80 polyethylene has a lower density than PE100 polyethylene, and therefore PE80 polyethylene pipe has a greater weight and thickness, which makes its production cost much higher than PE100 polyethylene materials, which practically does not justify its use economically.

PE80 polyethylene material is currently used mostly in the production of double-walled corrugated pipes, and some polyethylene pipe manufacturers still use PE80 material grade in the production of large-sized and pressure pipes, which is a mistake and is detrimental to the consumer in the short and long term. Polyethylene pipe produced with PE80 material is used in very small sizes and for use in agricultural lands and gardens for irrigation. The use of PE80 material for the production of polyethylene pipes is obsolete and it is better to say goodbye to this material grade in general and forget it.

The following tables are based on DIN8074 standard and ISIRI 1331 and ISIRI 14421 standards for single-wall polyethylene PE80 pipe with a safety factor of 1.25, temperature conditions of 20 degrees, and 50 years of allowable working pressure.

PE80 Polyethylene Pipe price

The price of PE80 pipes varies depending on the type of pipe, whether it is a double-wall corrugated pipe or a single-wall polyethylene pipe. The use of PE80 spiral polyethylene pipe materials is not recommended for high-pressure pipes and sensitive applications, and the use of these pipes has become obsolete.

This material (PE80) is mostly used for double-wall corrugated pipes and spiral polyethylene pipes for sewage transfer and small-sized polyethylene pipes for irrigation, and for this reason, the price of PE80 pipes is lower than the price of PE100 pipes. Another reason is that we do not have self-colored PE80 materials and they are all supplied from domestic sources and petrochemicals, and the price of PE80 pipes is lower than other samples.

The use of PE80 materials is not recommended at all due to advances in material technology and the production of PE100 materials.
